What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis is just a natural state of deep relaxation and inner awareness.  The pleasant drifting off to sleep is a state of hypnosis, so we would normally recognise it as being a very easy and comfortable state of being!

First rule of thumb is to forget what you see on “hypnosis shows” by TV and stage hypnotists.  Hypnosis is actually a consensual state.  That means, no one can force it upon you, and no one can make you do things that are against your will or beliefs!

It is very important that you understand that you are always in the driver’s seat, and your thoughts, images, feelings and beliefs are your own.

Hypnotherapy can help a wide range of problems – some of which you may have learned to live with, or thought were untreatable.  You can quit smoking, overcome a fear of flying, ease driving test or exam nerves, lose weight, lift depression, reduce alcohol intake and build your confidence to become a stronger person, all through hypnosis.  The list is long and too numerous to list here.
